Vietnamese Hoagies!
April 24, 2008 by beeberoni
So, seeing as i have… too much time on my hands these days because i’m no longer working, and i’ve been continuously sick with allergy-induced asthma, i decided to get out of my house and get some fresh air. not too good for the allergies… but whatever.
I was craving Banh Mi (vietnamese sandwiches/hoagies) so i went to Lee’s Sandwiches, on the southeast corner of Warner and Dobson Road. I know all my Philly friends rave about O’ Sandwiches and their vietnamese hoagies, but i think Lee’s is better by FAR. They make their own french baguettes, and their sandwiches are much more hearty and fresh, in my opinion. and they give more cilantro! Plus, their pickled carrots and radish are nice and fresh, and they don’t put too much of it, so as not to overpower the taste of the sandwich. Lastly, it’s huge. it’s like over a foot long, and only costs a meager $3 !

After eating, i walked around the asian stationery store nearby, and saw this printed on a canvas tote bag. Does anyone else think this is hilarious and so true?? i can’t tell you how many of my patients in the last 2 years said this exact same thing to me, and i wanted to say that exact reply… i don’t get it much in other places, but only when i was at work for some reason. Maybe because %95 of my patients were 50+ white men.

hahaha i want that bag!!!
O’ Sandwiches? Never heard of the place.
For my viet hoagie fix, I frequent a hole-in-da-wall vietnamese cafe near 8th & Christian. You have just enough space to walk in, squeeze by 4 chairs and 2 tables, and order. There’s even a vegan hoagie for the non-carnivorous homo sapiens….
wow, better than O’s.
now i really want a viet hoagie.
i love the use of “dumbass.”
haha…the tote bag is so funny!
You should buy that bag and bring it to taiwan!
i believe when you go back to Taiwan, a lot of people will say that to you!
